Take a deep breath and enjoy the moment!

We have a lot to talk about!! Hopefully by the end of this blog, you have a different perspective of this pandemic we are living in.

I hope I am not the first person to tell you this, but we are in the middle of a pandemic because of Covid-19. On March 24, Governor Whitmer signed a “stay at home” executive order for the state of Michigan. In the days to follow, many small businesses were scrambling to figure out if they are considered “essential” or not. Whether you like it or not, Whitmer has been very clear/strict on what she considers to be essential, with good reason, in hopes of flattening the curve sooner than later.

This leaves real estate agents along with millions of other people sitting at home trying to stay busy and wondering if they are going to be able to afford their mortgage payment next month, or have enough money to get groceries, or God forbid, TOILET PAPER! We, as real estate agents are unable to have any face to face contact with any of our clients. Meaning no showings, listing appointments, or attending closings. This has us trying new things. Whether it be Zoom Moran Properties Monday morning meetings or setting up virtual tour facebook posts for anybody who is out there looking to buy their dream home.

Banks and Title Companies are considered essential so all of our pending transactions have been moving along. Since the lockdown, we have closed on two transactions, just got the clear to close on another one yesterday, and still have two deals working their way through the loan process. For this, we are extremely grateful!!

With all of that being said, Real Estate will still be there when Covid-19 is gone. The market will pick back up and the pent up Spring Market will be pushed to Summer or even Fall. This will create some adversity for us but we are ready to take it on with our Incredible Moran Properties Team!

The big question we all have been asking is about the unknown of Covid-19 and what the future will look like moving forward once it all goes away. If you are reading this blog for answers, I apologize. Unfortunately, I do not hold a crystal ball, but I do know a couple of things...

  • My 5 year old daughter learned to ride her bike on the second day of quarantine. Since then our family has taken at least 10 family bike rides.

  • Weather permitting, we have been outside for at least 6 hours every day.

  • There is no rush to get to gymnastics, practice, school events, etc

  • My kids are learning to entertain themselves and play OUTSIDE!

  • My son and I have been scouting turkey in preparation for the upcoming spring turkey season.

  • We have played Uno, Old Maid, and Memory a GAZILLION times.

  • We have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner together every day!

  • We have taken naps!

  • We have had the time to take a deep breath and enjoy the moment!

Maybe this is a time to re-evaluate how you have been doing things? I know personally and unfortunately, I haven’t had TIME to teach my daughter how to ride her bike or to sit down for a meal with my family every day, or beat my son in 1 on 1 basketball EVERY SINGLE TIME. I am truly blessed to be able to spend this time with my family!

Just remember, God is in control! Everything (good or bad) happens for a reason!

Please feel free to reach out to us if you need anything!
